#MyArtTravels Tips ✈ Eurail Germany: The Better Way to Travel

Updated: Feb 27, 2018

For those of you who are unfamiliar with Europe's popular modes of transportation, Eurail is exactly what it sounds like - a European railroad system connecting the various countries in Europe by rail. Along with Eurail Germany, the system also has factions in several European countries including Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.

Sometimes referred to as Eurorail or Euro Rail, the Eurail system is great for people touring Europe. With a wide variety of passes available, Eurail is sure to have a pass that will fit your needs. Be sure to search for the appropriate pass to cover your intended destinations, however, so you are able to experience all the places that you've been dreaming about vacationing in.

In particular, people planning to visit Germany should take advantage of Eurail Germany. Various packages are available to travelers, depending on exactly where you wish to visit. A Global Pass would obviously give you the most flexibility across Europe covering 22 countries, but you may also want to look into the various Regional Passes that are available with Germany as a destination, like the Eurail Austria - Germany Pass, Eurail Benelux - Germany Pass, Eurail Czech Republic - Germany Pass, Eurail Denmark - Germany Pass, Eurail France - Germany Pass, Eurail Germany - Poland Pass, or Eurail Germany - Switzerland Pass. Prices will vary depending on which pass you choose.

If none of those passes are quite right for your planned vacation, you always have the option of purchasing a Select Pass. The Select Pass allows you to choose between 3, 4, or 5 countries. Obviously the countries must be bordering one another for the pass to be valid. Though several countries using the Eurail system have the option of purchasing a One Country pass, Eurail Germany unfortunately doesn't offer this choice for travelers.

As for which rail systems in Germany your Eurail Pass will cover, it is acceptable for all trains run by Deutsche Bahn (DB) and many private railways as well. Be sure to check in advance, however, if you wish to use your Eurail Pass on a private German railway, just to make sure that you won't have any trouble. Documents are also available online at the Eurail website outlining exactly which private railways accept Eurail Passes and which do not.

After you've got your Eurail Passes, all there is left to do is sit back and enjoy the scenery as you comfortably experience Europe by train. With all of the major cities in Germany easily reachable by train, I'm sure you'll find Eurail Germany the better way to travel.
